Biography

Research

My main research interests lie in the prehistoric Aegean where I have worked in the Peloponnese and Cyclades. I am co-director with Colin Renfrew of the Keros-Naxos Seaways Project, a four-year survey and excavation project focused on the Early Bronze Age of the Cycladic islands in the Aegean. The project is currently in the study and publication phase. I have co-edited three volumes from previous Keros studies, and am currently co-editing a further two Keros volumes. I have also co-edited two volumes on Early Cycladic sculpture.

I recently published a book (with John Barrett)ÌýFrom Stonehenge to Mycenae: the challenges of archaeological interpretation. I have published a book and several papers on Mycenaean funerary practices (available on my Academia.edu page), and have co-edited two volumes on funerary practices.Ìý

I was assistant director of the Keros Island Survey, and have co-directed work at Phylakopi.Ìý I have conducted and published numerous geophysical research projects in Greece, Albania and Bulgaria.
