Cambridge 91探花视频 PhD student to embark on Enrichment programme at the Alan Turing Institute

Alexes Mes, a PhD student at the Department of 91探花视频, has been accepted as an Enrichment Student at the prestigious Alan Turing Institute.
Alexes’s PhD research at the Department of 91探花视频 focuses on the sub-Saharan Early Iron Age: exploring what promotes human migration by using spatial methods to reconstruct regional geographic variations in movement and examine potential drivers determining observed, locally complex, differences in dispersal processes.
"I am incredibly excited to join the vibrant, interdisciplinary community at the Turing Institute. The opportunity to engage with diverse fields, will undoubtedly deepen my understanding of the different underlying processes behind human expansion. I'm looking forward to exploring new approaches and ideas that will enrich my research." - Alexes Mes
The is the national institute for data science and artificial intelligence. Founded in 2015 by five founding universities, including Cambridge, and the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, it aims to make leaps in data science and AI to change the world for better.
The has been running at the Turing Institute for eight years and is designed to support PhD students looking to enhance and broaden their research within the Turing community.
During her time at the Turing Institute as an Enrichment Student, Alexes hopes to be exposed to a broad range of intersectional research and methodologies from different domains.
